Overheating prob...
so i got a prob... i did motor swap... everything is hooked up car is done... i filled it up with radiator fluid, started car... runs great 100% but after running for few mins sitting still... it will start to over heat like get hot hot.... so i kill the car... and i waited good 2 hours... walked out side and took out the bleed screw on radiator hose that goes to block... let car run for good 10 mins with it out.... put screw back in... was doing good for few more mins.. went to test drive.. i back out and bam over heats... so i kill it.... now im asking you guys should i burp it again? any help would be great... thanks.
Gee Jake, maybe when you swapped everything over, the water pump may have backed itself out like it did to me when I swapped the radiator. Try a new water pump unless you already got one. When I took the clutch fan off to swap radiators, the radiator fluid just started pouring out of the block from the water pump area. Swapped the water pump, and no problem.
But Honda boy could never be right, or even have a good suggestion, since he never did anything to his 240 right?

before you go spending more money on parts, figure out if you are actually over heating or if the gauge is wrong. always when you chage thermostats, you should also change the temperture sending unit. It might not always be needed, however, it rules out the possibility.
check the lower hose to see if it is as hot as the top. (becareful, if it is overheating, touch anything for too long, and you'll burn yourself)
if the bottom one is cooler than the top, then its the thermostat. check for any leaks. If the water pump is going bad, it will start to leak.
there are lots of reasons why a car can over heat. so start with the cheap ones and work your way up.
