will massive weight reduction throw off tuned hp?
Just wondering if you put a cf hood on a 240 and gutted the inside and did cf doors, say your car is tuned for 400 horsepower. The weight reduction dosent technicaly add horsepower dose it?, like would it throw off my ecu and everything else if my cars lighter cus it would be going faster if I did that much weight reduction. Sorry trying to understand this concept better.
it doesn't hp the way you think it is. it add effective HP. so as far as your tuning goes, no, it wouldn't effect it at all. your suspension tuning would, but not things like your ECU. you can weigh 5,000 pound, hop on the dyno and get 300 hp. go on a diet and weigh 1,000 pounds, hop on the dyno and still make 300 hp.
when you're thinking about weight reduction and what not you have to think in terms of "effective hp". which simply put is your hp to weight ratio. that ratio dictates how fast a car is. thats why civics with 350 hp can stomp on corvettes with 500 hp.

go read a book, anything, you need to get smarter.
thats what i'm saying...
from what i can tell its gonna be so custom, they are gonna name it after him...... or something.....
must be nice to be baller enough to afford it all...
maybe i do just need to knock over a bank...
lol, thanks for the information, norachelhere, it made perfect sence. Thanks for the input. Im planning out a build, I want to narrow every question down in the process. jtm, I do read books. I havent found enough performance books that answer some of my questions.
Try how stuff works and wikipedia. Gl with the build. Also, if those are your wheels in your avatar, and they are five lug, SELL them to me!

damn speed cat how much weight do you wanna take out? well I don't think you can take out enough to effect your tune.
load amount effects turbo spool up. the more load the harder the turbo works. less rotating weight /rotating mass gives faster spool up.
