S13 Air mass flow sensor problem
This is how it happened, i was just driving casually to walmart, then i feel lil jerks from the air mass flow sensor and i thought it was much to worry about, then after i have left walmart it all the sudden just sputters when i step on the gas, i then couldn't step on the gas ne more because it would just shut off..It would idle but when you step on the gas it would just sputter and turn off. I asked a couple of ppl and they told me it was the air mass flow sensor but i wanted to know if it was ne thing else.
Some1 plz help me i have no car to ride right now
Some1 plz help me i have no car to ride right now
when you step on the gas will it go anywhere? when my mass air flow went bad or the connection was bad it would still stay on but it would sputter up to 2,500 rpm and stop, and not go any higher.
check your wires, make sure the connection is good

sounds like it could be the MAF but im not positive, im still new haha
go under your hood, and check the wires going into your MAF make sure none of them are spliched or cut or anything
when mine went out, i had to trace the damn thing half way to my ecu to find where it had givin out lol
good luck man

double check things like the fuel pump and filter.
make sure the injectors are firing properly.
the MAF might not be bad... the connection might be...
does it smoke any?
while you've got your tools out, you might as well check the compression....
double check your timing, see if anything got screwed up.
if you've got a timing light, then use it, see if the timing retards when you try to rev it, or if it just dies. If it retards,(or advances) then you know that the ECU knows what is wrong and is trying to compensate for it. If the timing doesn't change, then the ECU doens't know... which might be worse. Once you get an engine started, it will do whatever it can to stay alive. They actually don't like dieing...
Good luck.

check your plugs, wires, dizzy, and change the fuel filter to a 300zx one if you havent already done so
