paying for the actual ITBs isnt the problem its the ECU part that can get a little costly

Now dan instead of using the AEM EMS couldnt you get away with using a HKS VPC system my buddy is using that on his sr

yeah, but finding one of those gets rarer by the day. or bug a supra guy to upgrade to aem and hand me down his stuff lol.

or using ITB's, you could build a plenum with a 3" pipe coming off of it and still utilize the MAFs...as roundabout as that is.

Simplest way to do It, but im guessing you loose some of the desired throttle response by making a plenum

true but 20v corollas did it. do some calculations, and using the right combination of runner length, velocity stack length, and plenum size, and it will perform similarly. I personally like the idea of having ITBs, but i dont fancy the fact that 99% of them just suck in hot air from the engine bay...minus the K series honda swaps that face forward out the hood vent or something. i would almost prefer to have a plenum setup with a large diameter intake pipe feeding it cold air. but then again, the MAFs still becomes a restriction...a 3" one at that. but i think on a regular KA it would be fine.
