ac stuck on floor or defrost

Default ac stuck on floor or defrost

my ac wont let me switch back to the main vents only between the floor and defrost....anyone know how to fix it or what the problem is.

i had that problem, i jsut switched between setting a bunch of times and it was fixed lol

There is a cable that switches between the settings, perhaps it's stuck or the vent that splits the airflow is stuck. Only way to tell is to pull the dash and have a look underneath. That and keep your intake vents clean to keep debris out of the system.

that slider that you use to switch between then, is connected to a cord. its a metal cord that is inside a plastic "shield" the metal cord moves inside the plastic. The plastic gets attached so it doesn't move at all. If that attatchment goes bad, then you'll move the entire cord, not just the internal metal piece and therefore, it won't move the vent.
the only way to fix it is to get behind the dash and all that jazz.
or it could be something completely different..... regardless, you're gonna have to get under the dash and its a pain in the ass....

s14's HVAC controls are totally electronic.

sounds like one of the motion arms that opens one of the air mix doors is stuck or not responding.

i am not to sure all i know is on my mustang it was a vac line just in case it isn't the cable just trying to help
