like the title says my ecu is making computer noises. when driving somtimes it makes ticking, huming, and a scraching noise its freaking me out. cause i don't have a radio so i hear everthing. should i start looking in to get another ecu. any help would be cool

 

If you need a new ECU check out Central Florida Performance they have a stock pile of them for cheap. I bought mine there when mine went out.. 727-572-4340

it works fine for now i dont get paid until thursday should i invest in one. and what happens if it goes out while driving i heard it would pop the motor is that true It's a 5 speed

 

could, but 15$ isn't a lot to ensure ur motor.....my ecu was perfect when i took the single cam out. so just hit me up when u want it

 

if it just dies, your spark won't happen and your injectors won't fire. you'll basically just roll to a stop. when you try to start it again, your "EGI" and "EGI Pump" relays will tweak out.
If it dies slowly, your spark time will jump around and your injectors will fire different amounts at different times. so you'll buck and bounce, then roll to a stop.
I can't think of any way it would kill the engine. But I would still strongly suggest replacing it as soon as possible. If you're really tight on cash, you might want to check out the junkyards, I can't imagine them costing a whole lot....

the offer of 15 bucks is a pretty good deal, especially since you know it came out of a running car. so you know its good.
I would say that as soon as you get 15 bucks, buy that ecu and swap it out. Its cheaper than paying to get your car towed, and then getting the ecu swapped. ya know.

Yea, when mine went out the car would start.. it just would smell like straight gas and the motor would jump all around and the exaust would sound like its running really rich.

 

since i bought my car a few months ago it's been runing rich. let off the gas it rumbles and pops

 

i bought a dual cam ecu from a junkyard for 60$, they crazy with prices, but i knoe the single cam ecu will never get used when i have it so i might as well help u out for 15$.
