I'm sure many of you who drive S13 don't have hood pins and I myself is one of them even do I know it must be one of the S13's weaknesses when it gets that little extra power. And i still though it would never happen to me, well it did...



We are still lucky it was a carbon fiber hood... don't wanna known what would of been if it was the stock one. Get them hood pins...

im curious as to how is happens? i mean i think from what i read due to have the sr swap and all the power under the hood? but for me this doesent make much since can somone inform me please? make me smarter,when i look at that picture it looks like you forgot to latch it all the way and decided to go a buck 20

 

that happened because you had a ebay carbon fiber hood that broke off the latch. it wasnt because of the extra power those pulleys give you. its not an s13 weakness the most stock hoods ever do is bow up on the sides a little bit.

 

I really would have to put up a hash mark for user error.

sorry for you luck man, but I dont think this can be blamed on the car...

 

imma agree with everyone. power doesn't make a hood fly off. aerodynamics and mistakes do.

You probably did everything right, but the manufacture messed up and you had to pay the price. the sad part is, there isn't really anyway to prove it one way or another.
