Default Electrical help needed

I'm having an electrical issue with my fuel system. Its a 92 240. When you turn the key to "run" the fuel pump primes just like it is supposed to. It isn't until you try to start the car that the problem comes up. We have to start the car by "hotwireing" the starter. It was working just fine for a while. Now, when you hit the starter, the EGI and EGI pump relays click, alot. The fuel pump doesn't pump at all during this. When you let off of the starter, the relays continue to click and the pump kicks on and off, kinda like - - - - - with each - representing a burst of fuel.
With the little bit of knowledge I have, I thought the pump might not be grounded properly, so I checked all of that. I checked every connection and sure enough, the pump is grounded to the chassis just fine. Being curious i also checked to see if the relays where grounded, and they are. The interesting thing I found there was with the EGI relay. With the key in my pocket, I was getting battery voltage to 2 and 3 and a partial ground on 5. No reading on 1. I just went to double check. The was in the Run position for a few minutes now and the relay is hot. I've exhausted my electrical knowledge. Any help would be appreciated.
thanks

Just rewire a separate fuel pump relay setup. Get a bosch relay at your local parts stor with the plug. Here is a simple set up that works great. Look at diagram.

bosch relay has 4 wires coming out of it. Its very simple and cheap.

THIS DIAGRAM SHOULD BE ON THE RELAY
V

One wire will go to the battery. (fuse) should be between battery and relay. + _/ _ -and the other will go to the fuel pump.

This is how the other wires go. One wire goes to the +IGNITION+ so that when you turn the key on the the electric magnet in the relay will kick on and complete the circuit then the pump will kick on and stay on. For the last wire it goes to a -ground-.

NOTE that I like to put the relay near the fuel pump cover.

well, i figured it out.
it was a bad connection in the cam position sensor plug. I guess the wires or whatever were just old and worn and not making a good connection. I just happened to touch the wires and everything worked...until i took my hand off of the wires. Now it is ok to LKQ to get a replacement and wire it in.
thanks for the help everyone.
