CA is a fun little motor. I think stock they came about 175 crank horsepower. Basicly 4-Cyl. version of the RB25. I dont have much experiance with them in bone stock form but I can say with minor bolt ons (FMIC, Exhaust, T-28, ect.) they can put down some nice power. Ive never put mine on the dyno but at only 6psi with the listed mods above ive ben able to roast first gear and if i beat on it hard enough most of second. and thats with 245wide falkens in the rear. Iron block/bottom is said to be super strong and overbuilt (Forged guts/oil squirters) Better cam/head design. Verry rev happy motor, but not much torque at all IMO. Of course it being an older motor it may have been ragged on pretty hard it its JDM counterpart so be ready for a rebuild if compression is uneven or low. Try searching and I dont mean to whore out another forum but check out NICO Forums. CA18DE / CA18DET Forum: Nissan Infiniti Forums - NICOclub theres a WHOLE CA18 forum there, read the stickys. Theres even a page with what power ppl make at the dyno and list there mods on the car. Keep in mind those are wheel horsepower numbers. Ill be the first to admit im not a nissan guru but hope that helps. Go read up for yourself. - Shane

the good thing about the ca is that all the usdm ca parts can be used with the det motor. they are fun motors and ive been thinking about doing a ca swap in my car, they are pretty cheep and there is also a canadian ca thats na and ive seen it for sale for like 600 with tranny and harness.

just realize that you are going to say bye bye to all personable torque features... that was the only downfall I saw w/ my CA.
