Exclamation the infamous LS1 240 swap

Ok i have been looking link after link about pp doing LS1's into 240. I have found a few for sale as well as saw a vid on Streetfire that had one from Tampa Bay. "whose it was i unno" But i was wondering does anyone know of any good write ups about this? Reason Being i have a chance to pick up a 98' LS1 6 speed trans, ecu and complete un-hacked harness for 1200.00 also including the accessories that came w/ the motor. Seems a lot cheaper to get to the 300 hp range that i want.

any info would be greatly appreciated.

mikespeed has it, along with chin

go to XAT shop forum. XAT actually does the swap and has all the stuff since mikespeed works there.

yeah most of the work will be done by me. Im basically just trying to find more info on what all is needed or the pita parts. I have no problems w/ buying parts sitting on em until i get everything. rather do it right and safely over having it in there quickly.

Matt Chin works at XAT now as well. So, that's just about all the S13+LS1 experience in the whole bay area in one shop.

Hinson super cars makes all the stuff to make it work, like ecu reprogram, harness modification, fuel stuff and you can get the GTO oil pan and mounts, to peice one together yourself. Or you could buy everything you need from them (crossmember, trans cross member headers etc) to make it work but its expensive that way.

Custom mounts, modify your crossmember, custom headers, custom exhaust, wiring, fuel pump, cooling, hood clearance, all different kinds of shit that needs to be done to make it work.

Just gotta research, and try things. If you notice you need to do something, do it.
