I have a 1988 300zx n/a and I bought headers for it and I thought they would be easy to install like every other header Ive installed in my life. but for some reason nissan decided to make the right side manifold travel over the transmission and into the left header and then down through one pipe. so it made it so difficult to install, I ended up having to cut the pipe that went across the transmission and then finally gitting it to come down and out. also the car had an evo2 cat back exhaust system on it but the hole system was welded together so I hade to cut it into sections to get it out from underneather the car so, I was wondering if anyone had installed headers on their 300zx or someone elses and how long did it take them to do it, because it took me two days to do mine.

 

I did a turbo swap in about three days on my 87.
Kinda wonder why you would even bother with headers at all when a turbo is only a few bolt ons away.

 

your right but im dont want to put any real money into the car, I have a hundred shot of nitrous that I put on the car today, so im just playing with the car I dont care about it. I wish it was turbo, but then I would care more about the car, right now I dont give a shit.

 

lol, olds cars = fused exhaust pipes. me and a friend pulled an engine out of the car in two days with the transmission. Only reason we didn't get it out in 1 is we didn't have a sawzall to cut the downpipe. Trying to remove the manifolds in the car has to be a pain.

 

I spent a total of $500 turbo'ing my 1986 300ZX. I would think that is cheaper than trying to squeeze every little HP out of an NA setup.

 

Yep, it's real easy to turbo a 300zx, or if you are really lucky, you can supercharge it for cheap, s/c xterras are same block, it all golts up

 

the only prblume with my manifold's are the damn studs like to break off!!!
but if you want to make real power you can find a full turbo parts car for likr 800 bucks or all the turbo parts for 300!
and not hard to put on,it took me 3 hours to pull my vg30!
You can put a pathfinder intake on becouse the maxima's,pathfindrs.have same vg engins....go with turbo man,fuck giggle gas

 

I do not think there is a easy way to do this. I know you have to pull the motor on z32's to change the turbos and everything else is so much easier when the motor is out. My suggestion to you is to call z fever and get their advise.
