ok so the car started fine today. its a 1993 with sr20 black top swap. all of a sudden it wont crank over. battery is fine. i think the starter is shot. anyone have any suggestions to what it might be and if it is the starter does anyone haveone for sale or know where i can go to get one ASAP.?

theres a little button near the clutch pedal, check that by pushing it with your finger and then try to crank it, if thats not it atleast you eliminated one problem. and then try to run a hot wire to the starter, if it cranks then it is the power wire for the starter or the terminal. then test the starter by banging in it with a hammer mexican garage style and have someone crank the car while you do so, if it cranks while your doin that then it is the starter

 

well now not only is the starter gone to shit, when i had to push start it it would run fine. then all of a sudden last night it just went into safe mode and wouldnt rev past 2500 and it was sputtering all to hell and it wont keep an idle... whats wrong with this shit

 

u may have blown off a charge pipe that y its running like shit, and as far as starting it it may not be the starter, does it click when u trun the key? well take off the plastic cover that covers the thing u put the key in....and on the other end of the silver tune looking thing the key goes in is a round plug thing with like 7 wires soldered to it push in on that and wile pushing in on it try and start it.........sory if i made that hard to understand

 

sounds like a maf problem making it not go past 2500 or like ^ said a loose cuppling on a charge pipe somewhere

 

fixed the starter. the electric clamp on it was off once plugged back in it started. all the couplers are good. the maf is in i havent taken it out yet, but it runs really really rich and wont hold the idle.

 

that does sound like the maf, mine was doin the same thing and i replaced the maf and its fine now

 

i swapped mafs with a friend and his maf was fine but once we swapped the car still is running rich wont go past 1500rpms now and i cant figure out what the hell is wrong with it
