to me, these are dead. poor showings. if you guys still want to go, that's fine but due to other reasons, im not considering it official unless somehow everyone bands together and makes it happen.

i understand winter/holiday months are shitty showings, but the weather has been fine at all of them pretty much. its been wet at one or two, and those actually had better showings i think, lol. i didnt go this month but apparently it was as dead as the last 3 ive been to.


reasons:

1. people suck. lazy, cars blown up, whatever. thats fine and valid. no one forces it. i always wished we could make a good showing, but honestly since we got booted from north tampa target, its been downhill since. could be a phase, changing cars, i dunno.

2. early meet. the guys that make the causeway meet are cool and i have no problem with it. its not official, but it draws alot more people, especially the noobs and younger guys, which is usually impossible do to. being they meet so early though, people all split up and do their own thing, or they just dont want to spend THAT many hours doing car stuffs. by nightfall, people are ready to do their own thing, having already "meeted up" all day.

3. cliquey shit. it seems right now, the shop drama is mostly over. for a while there would be an xat crew that all showed up. or none. or a dc crew that all showed up. or none. so basically you could have 10-12 people all show up, or none of them. thats lame IMO, but i guess people are afraid of walking around and introducing..or people just want to be in the cool group or something. it was sad to see people standing there talking shit about another group or person. i always wanted to get a bullhorn and have an official meeting and tell everyone to shake hands and meet each other but it doesnt happen. people walk around, stare at cars and walk off. maybe we need a good ice breaker.

4. venue. like i said, after target got booped (thanks to those who fubared it for us), people just stopped coming. i never really heard complaints about the new venue though. it was an easy access, esp for pinellas people, and no one seemed to care that there were some good looking vw's, evo's/wrx's there. its not like it was a import-hating domestic meet, or a beat up honda meet with 16 year olds doing burnouts.

i unstickied the meet because after 3 months of poor showings this year, and the other meet getting the attention, i figured i would just go to those during the day and hope everyone else would too. (i do wish the causeway meet was more around 3-5pm since its lighter later now, and people could go grab dinner and then head to the other meet. did i mention i love rolling out 50 deep? its fun - as long as people are civil).


if u have any suggestions, let me know. we can try to all make it in april, but im not gonna hold my breath.

 

I will go this April. I'll even wash the car. Someone has to either PM me or something to remind me the week before so I don't make plans with the lady by accident. This also gives me time to sweet-talk her into going with me. I'm so whipped

yeah if the causeway meet atleast started a couple hrs later that would be awsome usually im still passed out form a heavy night of drinking
