are they much faster then the older models ive herd they are and my friend killed on in his stock srt4 and we ran an 06 the other day n we stayed even then for some odd reason he pulled extremly hard way to hard for a stock car...we think he had spray there so much stuff u can hide under there hoods so we couldnt tell n he had a gauge but then closed something n we didnt see it... and before we ran n after he put his hand behind his backseat u dont keep doing that before a race n after there isnt much a reason 2... lol but i dunno he said the new ones have more hp less TQ the older ones have less hp but more tq maybe vis versa

 

Dunno about the '06 in relation to older models. As far as I know they're rated the same. I did read on FA(i think) that Nissan has said the '07 model will now be 306 or 307hp up from the 300hp it's at right now. They touched on that they have also changed the way they factor drivetrain loss so people are saying that it will really feel/be more like a 15-20hp gain.

 

The 05 Track and all of the 06's have Nissan's "rev-up" version of the VQ35DE, which gives it 300hp. All previous years, and the rest of the 05's got the standard motor that makes 287hp. This is unrelated to Nissan's new HR or High Rev motor, which will make 307hp, and probably more in the future. The HR is completely different inside and out from all other previous VQ's. The "rev-up" VQ just has a different manifold, cams, dual VTC, and a bunch of revised small bits.
