any way to tell z32 30mm from 26mm calipers?
i just scored some 300zx calipers (and MC) for first cheap. the kid i got them from wasnt sure if they were 26mm or the aluminum 30mm. is there any casting or number that will tell me if they are either the 26mm or 30mm?
thanks alot guys

chances are they are 30mm of some sort because 26mm were only available on non-turbo 300zx's until june of 1990.
let me find asad's webpage if i can. but if u want to tell, measure the width of the groove inside the caliper where the rotor goes in. the 26mm one should measure about 28-30mm (to allow for pads and such) and the 30mm caliper measures out to 32-34mm.
if u have the 30mm it could be an aluminum or iron based caliper. one or the other has "inserts" around where the mounting bolt holes go..i think it is the aluminum ones.

this is what the 30mm ones look like, the other ones have fins on them
*edit* these are the aluminum ones
*edit again* the fronts are iron the backs are aluminum

26mm caliper center channel width = 32mm.
30mm caliper center channel width = 36mm.
They also don't bring up any of the real ebrake cable solutions, like R33 and Z32 2+2 cables.

Can you tell us about these R33 and 2+2 300zx ebrake cable solutions? I want to do the 5 lug swap however I need an ebrake solution that isn't cob jobbed.
also that site credits to asad's site, which he wrote up like 6 years ago. back then the only way to do it was 1-no e-brake, 2-ghetto splice and clamp, 3-z32 rear uprights, change rear lower shock mounts, bunch of other crap.
I haven't really taken notes on what I read, but it's all on FreshAlloy. I think it's Z32 2+2 for the S13's and R33 (GTS-t) for the S14's.
