Cam profile is different to meet OBD ll standards. Also no VTC's as in "90-"94. They are rated at 280bhp compared to the previous 300bhp.

90-93 all the same

94-95 Different fuel rail, injectors, camshafts (cam gears mount differently on 94-95)

96....In 96 Nissan switched to OBDII and dropped the variable valve timing (which makes it IMPOSSIBLE to get a drop in replacement motor)

There are also reports that the 96's had a more agressive cam profile to keep the 300bhp rating. There are only 400ish examples of the 96TT, so we may never know. Actually, I have a 96 FSM back home....

I'm pretty sure that 95's kept the VTC of the previous years.

alright ... i now have answers. Being in the salvage yard business i use the ADP Hollander system that runs off of factory part #'s. engine 's are 90-94, 95, 96. Blocks all interchange 90-96. There is a prod. date split in 94 that makes it one way interchange newer replaces older. Cyl. heads are 90-94, 95-96( bare heads, not loaded). cams on 96 are 96 onlt w/ the intake cams being same as non-turbo and J30. Injectors 92-95 blue and black, 96 by itself. thanx guys
