i can get a a brand new set of ground controll coilovers for 200 bucks is that a good deal? and are they any good?

 

Ground control coilovers aren't anything i'd associate with quality. IMHO I wouldn't install them on my car if they where given to me.

 

Ground Control makes very high quality stuff, and numerous race cars use them all over the motorsport world from Rally, to Autocross, to Club racing and SCCA World Challenge. They use Eibach springs, who are regarded as one of the finest manufacturers of springs on the market today.

However, there is an issue of the ease of installation.

ground controls will require you to make a nice assembly to hold a short stroke strut and shock in order to make it work correctly. This will allow you to run a nice 2-way adjustable koni, but the question remains, is this the best setup for my car? Welding and cutting are required also for the camber plates, but on the plus side, you get both camber and caster adjustment up at the top of the front strut tower, not just camber at the strut and caster adjustment at the tension/compression rod.

So they might actually be a little bit over the top for most people wondering how to get the best ride for the cheapest money and least amount of work.

 

so id have to assemble them and weld the thing that holds the spring to the strut? is all that hard cus i can weld
