Question which gets better gas milage?

ok so i was wondering and i doubt this has been asked cause i search and wondered which gets better gas milage? SR20DET or KA24DE? im saying SR cause its a 2.0 liter and if both cars were traveling at 50 mph which car would stall first? and keeping SR out of boost just crusing which would get better milage?

I would have to say the SR but then again as stated before if you have boost you use it so then the KA would get the better mileage. But if you have the control not to use the boost the SR gets a little better mileage.

My KA was better on gas.
KA had more torque and cruised right along at low RPMs.
My SR isn’t very happy under 2000 RPMs
There is also a difference when you fill them up.
KA=87 octane
SR=93 or 94 octane

it will ultimately depend on gearing. with a 3.92 gear from a J30, I manage between 25-28 on long trips and around town 20-23.

it will also depend on tuning and the size of the turbo. i dont get full boost til ~3200RPM, so i can cruise off boost and make good mileage and still have decent torque, my a/f's run high 14s to mid 16s cruising, which is about perfect for gas mileage. for SR's using stock turboes or other small variants, they come onto boost easily, and have less torque down low off boost, therefore they will get worse gas mileage sometimes.

Key is to get tuned and use cruise control on long trips/roads. saves your foot from going in it too much.

explain how a ca18 will get better gas mileage than an sr or a ka. it uses the same injectors as an sr. less displacement does not mean better gas mileage.

KA has to win it has smaller injectors. Displacement really isnt a factor in the comparison of the 2 if thats what you want to know.
