300zx N/A Speed Question...
Hey guys,sorrt for the stupid thread,but i had a nissan question.
Can someone tell me about how fast the last gen 300 zx non turbos were?
I have a friend with a fairlady z and he swears he eats the turbo z's all day long.
Maybe list some cars that compare to it in speed too.

a friend of mine has a modded up n/a z32 and makes ~230-240 rwhp. no bottle or anything, and i wanna say he runs around 14 sec 1/4. besides a stroker motor or no2 there isn`t much more he can do to it.

well... my project... and i swear everyone is giving me shit about this since I do nothing but big turbo SR's at work. I have a na z and was going to turbo it a long time.. then was going to do a SR ... which I had done to a couple of other Z's and then an RB.. but in the end I want to try a NA project. Being the Z is a 83 stroke / 87 bore it will be easier to do a high revving motor... heck I set my limiter in my rom tune to 7750 on stock valve springs. Anyways.. I am going to do titanium rods on a set of CP's with a tight piston to wall clearence and tight ring gap... the lightest flywheel / crank pulley possible.. Titanium retainers on some jun valve springs with stainless valves and a mild port job. Topped off with a high 290 duration cam on about 10 mm of lift...I'm dumping the huge plenum and doing 6 individual throtle bodies.. If I did my math right.. on 12.2:1 CR on 93 octane, it will produce around 280-290 @ 8800 RPM if I tune it decent. On race gas I am hoping to break 300 rwhp... Wish me luck

Short of doing crazy stuff like what martin or gritt said...it aint happening
With basic mods they are still int eh 15s quarter mile. A stock twin turbo in good shape (which many are not) can do at least a 14.0 if not mid 13. A stock TT makes about 250whp and a good deal of torque. Not to mention it has wider wheels/tires.

at least you never have to worry about replacing the turbos...
