Default AC Fan speed switch problem

I used to have the same exact problem on my '97 now I'm having it on my '93. My ac works fine until I switch it to the number 4 postion and the fan turns off completely. It used to happen intermittanly now it doesn't work at all. Somebody has to have run into this problem before.
Thanks
Brian

its the blower switch, it works by using speed 4 as the base, then uses resistance to slow it down for speeds 1, 2, and 3.

actually i cant remember if its the blower switch, motor, or some type of fuse unit. but i know thats the problem, my brother's car had that too.

my 4 would barely ever work, maybe sometimes if I jiggled it. However, I just replaced my climate control unit today with another one and 4 works with no problems. *shrugs*
