Just purchased my 1st Nissan
Well like the title says I have purchased my first Nissan.. I am a Honda person.. but had to see what these cars were like to work on for myself =) .. heard alot of good things .. just had a few questions..
anyone know of good sites for nissans with alot of tech?
Any good instructions on how to lower the car? (95 240sx - not sure how diffrent it is from a honda)
Thanks in advanced.. I am excited to jump on the bandwagon lol

freshalloy.com has the most technical stuff you'll need
nico.com/240sx.org has good FAQs for all your noobie questions
ka-t.org for everything you want to know about turbocharging the KA
zilvia.net if you want to get in arguments with crazy elitist driftnuts from california/texas
lowering the car is no different than any other. 240s run macpherson strut setups, very simple once you get in there and look it over. while there are a few good spring and strut combinations that are mild for lowering and fine for street use, its recommended you get a nice set of adjustable coilovers (megan, JIC, stance, KTS, there's like 50 companies that make them) to get full use out of it, and they dont cost THAT much more than conventional spring and strut combos.
while you're looking at the suspension aspect, be sure to inspect the front lower ball joints, tie rod ends, and t/c (tension control) rod bushings (they run diagonal from the frame rails to the front lower control arms, for wears, tears, oozing goo, and etc. checking the tie rods for bends is good to look for too, and you can go over the rear bushings on the 4 arms that are back there (fronts, called traction arms, upper and lower control arms, and rears - called toe control arms), as well as the 4 subframe bushings (diagnosed by rear clunkyness).
pending on mileage youll have to replace at least one of those.
search back in this forum, and theres a few threads containing alot of links to websites that sell aftermarket 240 stuff. most of the sites i listed include sponsors and links anyways.

lol .. well i really am not going/willing to go crazy on this car as of yet since I have my s2000 and still liking that..
so my first priority with this car is to make it look decent/comfortable so i can use it as a daily.. problem is that it is auto.. so I am just going to work on this and learn some things before I get another one.. right now it is getting painted because it was BAAADD.. so once it gets out i will take a look at all the tie rods and all the suspension components.. if its anything like a honda then I think I should be ok.. thanks for all your help guys. I have registered myself on a few sites that was listed..
btw anyone got some decent springs for sale? an SE lip and SE fogs? these are the few things that would make the car a little nicer =)
thanks!

There was a shirt at Formula D that summed up your situation. It said I *heart* Honda, but with Honda crossed out and Nissan scribbled in. If that doesn't sum up the bandwagon, nothing does! Welcome to our group. Bandwagon is term of endearment.
