How can you tell if a head is warped and where can you go to get someone to test and tell if it is warped? Also, what can you do to a warped head to make it work again...can't you shave it and make it flat again? If so, what shops can do that kind of work and what money are we talking here?

 

the easiest way to test if your is warped and you cant see it is a compression test, if it is warped, im pretty sure milling is the process that would correct it

 

Anyone around here do that kind of work? Also, can't do a compression test because the engine block is bad due to a blown head gasket and therefor this is the reason I want to make sure he didn't warp the head.

 

This sort of thing is detailed in the FSM. You need to find a machine shop if you want the head milled. They'll probably measure it for you, too.

if youre going to waste money on doing a head on a sohc, just give me the money instead. ill at least buy cool stuff with the money.
