qr25de fuel pres reg
my friend bought a nitros kit for his 02 spec v , i am installing it for him we did half today and are goin to finish it tomarrow, i cant find the fpr im sure it has one but i dont see it i mean im looking at the fuel rail and what i think is it but as the instructions say i am suposed to put a vacume line off it going to the zex control unit, do i have to have a aftermarket fpr to do this part of the install ?
pretty sure qr25de's use a returnless fuel setup, meaning i dont think there is a fuel pressure regulator (hence no return line). i forget how fuel pressure is maintained, i want to say via ECU controlling the pump voltage or something.
I have to agree with Dan. From what I've researched a while back they use a returnless fuel system and I'm tempted to say the fuel pressure is held constant. I believe they make up for this by using larger injectors and programming the ecu in such a way that it compensates for the changing relative (pressure difference between intake and fuel system) pressure.
As far as the nitrous system you need to find out exactly what the fpr connection is intended to do. If it somehow controls the nitrous you can probably use a manifold vac source. If it's intended to raise your fuel pressure (more likely) you may need to do some research on other nitrous installs done on returnless fuel systems. Is this a wet or dry system? I wouldnt use the nitrous until you know what that fpr line is actually used for.

its a dry system , it has a vac port on the control mod which i already got hooked up to the intake mani . let me know what yall think im gana do some moreresearch but if i cant find anything il probly just give it a shot without hooking up that line
Is the kit specifically designed for that year and model car? You really need to make sure you have things right before you go trying it out. You may not notice a problem until it's too late.
make sure you have the right nozzles, or you're car could get FUCKED royally.
For safety precautions, i'd just say don't do it. It sounds like you guys are first timers...and the car WILL blow up if you use the dry, and have never had experience with nitrous.
