dog poo can be considered a theft deterrent too..
That is a pretty interesting concept. A card that needs to be swiped in order to start the car.
The biggest thing I want to know is how to prevent them from even THINKING about breaking in. just becuase dealing wiht glass and fresh paint on the inside sucks...

The whole card idea goes right back to square one IMO though. Just like people need keys to turn a cylinder, they will need a card to start the car. Both ways have electrical work arounds, unless you embed your wires in cement. Then they can still tow your car away.
I still think that the idea of a 4 wheel brake line lock would be best. Some sort of valve to lock hydraulic pressure into your calipers that does not require constant electricity and was made for long periors of use.
I would like to further explore that idea, because it would make driving your car impossible, towing the car impossible, and dragging it onto a flatbed pretty noisy.
GPS Tracking is a must, especially for anyone who has anything to lose.
I kinda like the pepper spray idea, even if it was a joke. I remember once we re-routed the windshield spray nozzles on an F150 into the cab, aimed at my co-workers crotch, and put mud all over the window...he had a nice suprise.
I imagine that if you had a resevoir with something not too nice, and the ignition completed the pump circuit unless another hidden switch was in the off position, you could really fuck someone up. Just hope there isnt an electrical malfunction while driving the freeway.
As for security, I am not too paranoid, but I think its time to put my tinfoil hat on. I posted before about locking my keys in my s13, It took me about 30 seconds to get into my car via the frameless windows...
I wish I had a garage.

is because it is currently still automatic..
that means they would have to swap it..or it would just suck to drive..
THIS CAR IS PROTECTED BY SLUSHBOX!..although..that kinda sucks for me too

All reputible alarm systems are going to have a starter kill built in. When the alarm goes off it doesnt allow power to pass through the starter wire. Some douchebag that doesn't know what he/she is doing and just out to screw with people probably wouldn't be able to bypass it, at least very quickly. You can put mini piezo sirens inside the car that go off with the alarm. So, if anyone thinks that eliminating the main siren would leave them in the clear they would definately be wrong and pissed. A big part of an alarm is the installation. I have sen some jobs where you can look up under the dash and see all of the alarm components. Thats not good! Also, many shopos use T-taps for quickness when installing. All you have to do is pull real hard and the connections come loose.
I know it has been stated that people do not like annoying alarm systems but they really can help you out. If you were to get a 2-way remote, depending on the brand, they will notify you of all activities with the car. Whether the hood was opened, the door, the shock sensor, etc. it will beep you on a pager or on the remote and let you know. If the alarm happenes o have a rem. start feature it will tell you if the vehicle has been started.
I think that a nice alarm and some sort of hidden switch either to the batt or fuel would be very deterring. Just becareful who all knows about the switch and everything.

the 4 wheel brake might not work. have you ever seen a towtruck driver repo a car?
if they want it they take it. they have dollys(sp) that will lift and roll the car onto the flat bed.
i saw a car towed and it was in gear and the e-brake on. the driver showed up yanked and was driving down the street in about 2min +/-.....

oooh..nice..
but i think a system that sophisticated..and expensive..
would make thieves break into my car to steal the security system
