No MAF
No MAF
I'm tryin to buy some parts from an aquaintance with a ka-t and he told me he runs a system with no MAF. Rather he uses a sensor in his intake that measures the pressure and calculates the volume of air from that. I've never heard of that. Whats it called? is it economical because this seems like it would have its advantages? Anything else i could find out would be amazing. thanks.

if you want similar results in performance (not dealing with BOV issues, etc) run a blow through setup in which you place the MAF AFTER the turbo and AFTER the BOV rather than on the suction side of the turbo. you'd have to do more research cause Im not sure how much boost one of these MAFS can take before self destructing and sending pieces of plastic into your throttle body.
definitely out of my budget, but good to know.
is anyone out there running a MAF after their BOV? i mean it sounds like a good idea if i don't plan to run insane amounts of boost.

I've been checking out maftpro.com and their speed density (map instead of maf) converter box. It looks like a very cool (and expensive) piece. Absolutely zero Nissan support, but I've offered to help them out a little. We'll see what they have to say.
