Default Installing Rocker Arm Stoppers

I installed rocker arm stoppers for my SR20DET.
It was a very easy task, took about 1 hr to do.

Remove the valve cover.
Take out all the hoses associated with the valve cover.
Then remove the nuts holding down the valve cover and spark plug coil packs.
Unbolt the nuts holding down oil tube. Its a long round tubing that squirts oil over the top of the rockers.
Remove the metal shield that goes under one of the oil tube, and cut the edges with a hand shear so the rocker arm stoppers can slide underneath it.
Slide the rocker arms stoppers in.
Tight all the cam shaft brackest bolts at 10 lbs of torque.
Just put all the bolts back in, and thats all.

Good write up. Good pics along with it. I just threw away the little shield thing. Also, if you have a compressor, I'd recommend making sure your cam sprayers are working right.

your head looks really grimey inside. Pretty straight forward install. I was taught differently to always tighten down the cams with 5 lbs. then 9 lbs. of torque. Plus you always want the little washers on top not the stoppers. I am pretty meticulous with everything though like my clearances inbetween the rockers and cam lobes.

I saw some people removing that sheild. I figured that nissan installed those shields for a reason, so i decided to keep it in there; its got to surve some kind of use.
I never thought about air blowing the oil tubes before. When i paint my valve cover, ill do that.

Its a simple task to do. Ill wipe the grim out later next time i move the valve cover out. MarkAccord95 told me to set it at 12 ft lbs, but i thought it was a lil too much when i was removing them, so i decided to do 10 because it seems like 12 was too much.
It's cam brackets 1st, then the RAS, washers, and bolt.
