Default Opinions on AUTOPOWER roll cages

Does anyone have one? The door bars look way to high to be on a street car. PICS?????
Who has some options for a cage that is scca legal for a s14 that will not cost more than 1.1K

man, you're probably going to have to get one custom made, with the removable bars in the doors. Let me call one of my old clients, he has a race prep shop in Birmingham, Alabama; he built me a SCCA legal 12 pt cage in 2 days, and he charged me much less than that...lemme see if i can get you the same deal...do you want a bolt in or permanent?

Auto Power will get the job done just fine. I'm putting one in my car and had one in the BMW. It does have it's weak points as far as design goes, but again your not running at speeds over a 100 mph or anywhere close to that on the drift course. For the money that or a Cusco will do you good. Cuscos have the ability to add on to the cages and there just as moderatly priced.

Infact Jarco has TWO Cusco cages on Ebay right now for s13 and s14's

A Cusco or Saftey 21 style cage would get r done ...

Custom cages can be had for your price range as well 10-12pt setups ...

Call Race Related in my signature . James does EXCELLENT cages ! He did taylors

IIRC, Cusco cages don't meet SCCA regs. So, if you're running in something that requires a cage, if they go by the SCCA rules you might be boned with a Cusco.

i think a custom permanent one is the best way to go if you drive it on the street sometimes...Custom because they can fit it in tighter than a premanufactured one (typically), and permanent because its stronger, being welded to the frame, and different points.

The cusco cage ends in 22 hours...........Im just not sure if it is good to get that one when it is not scca legal. but the price is soooo right.

Does anyone know if you need to cut the dash for the AUTOPOWER? I know the cusco cage you dont.

Check with mazworx, I have their drift cage for s13, and it's really nice, 6pt, uses 3/8ths grade 8 bolts and all that stuff, fits really tight.
