Oil comes with its own detergents in it now...that stuff changes all the qualities of your oil, some stuff works, but the only stuff i've ever used is Sea Foam, and some BG crankcase cleaner. Both of those evaporate so they can't be too bad. Never used Lucas products

change your oil now! Use a decent filter (bosch, mobil 1, k&n,) and if you fancy it rock synthetic oil. but dont mix or alternate oil types (stick to either oil for the rest of your engine life) and try to avoid cheap "too good to be true" deals most of the time they are very bad for your car.

Lucas oil products actually work pretty well. I usually like using the stabilizer in the hot summer to lower the oil temps and to give everything a thicker coat.

Lucas couldnt stop my Z's engine from smoking (nothing can)... but It did seem to help it shift better.

Like I said in a prior post you have made about this product, you are just masking the problem. Even if you are seeing some positive results from the lucas oil stabilizer. In the future it will not be able to help , and your car will start smoking again with or without it's use, eventually.
