muffler removal

muffler removal
how do i get it off.. i removed the clamp and it seems to be connected still some how. and how do i get the little hooks that hold the exhaust out of the rubber holders.

pull and pry them out...carb/throttle body cleaner will loosen it up and make it more maliable. The muffler is welded onto the exhaust i believe. otherwise get some penetrating oil and unbolt the exhaust.

I don't think the muffler is welded on. It should be in 2 sections, cat back to the axle back, then from the axle to the muffler. I might be wrong, I'd have to check, but I was pretty sure.

Get a good long flat head screw driver, stick it right in the center of the rubber holder. Then you got to use the end of that flat head. Get the very end of the tip of the screwdriver, place it at the very tip of that metal rod, then pry it outwords to open the rubber support's hole. Then push it out at the same time. Remember its rubber, you can stretch it, kinda like a condom. Go get yourself some rubber supports if you think you going to need to replace them.
I know its probably hard to understand it. Ask your friends for help. If your near pinellas park, i can show you personally.
