ignitor/sparkplug/ingnition wire problem for KA
well...once again my shitty car is not working. i was having trouble with bogging down and stalling sometimes so i tried to change the spark plugs and the spark plug wires. first of all i bought Xact wires which were the cheapest pieces of shit ever. i tried switching them out with the new ones, and yes i made sure they were plugged in the correct things. i also put the new spark plugs in. (autolite) crank the engine. car starts and idles so low it stalls. so i tried putting all the old stuff back in. car does the same thing. i tried every combination of new wires and plugs (new wires/old plugs old wires/new plugs etc.) still did the same thing. The car was running perfectly before i tried this. So i finally just put the new plugs in and put the old wires on because by now most of the new ones were broken from poor design. i start the car. i pull the first wire out while the car is running (in a very low almost stalling idle) and it stalls. i pull the second wire and it stalls. I pull the third and fourth wire out while it is running and it doesnt stall. so essentially the car is running on 2 cylinders. so i limped it home. WHAT THE FUCK HAPPENED!!!!
you are sure you didnt switch the wires? did you touch the distributer at all?
when you said the engine does not stall when you unplug the last 2 cylinders, does the vibration increase at all, or idle drop any? Cause it may be getting spark even if it doesnt stall even though the other cylinders do, but im not sure of the firing order.
I would make double sure you did not mix up the wires. And if they are correct, can you confidently say that you are 100% sure it is not related to the previous problems?

its a kade. we pulled out the spark plugs hooked them up to the wires. when we started the car we got spark out of both of them. i checked my chiltons manual and they are all in the right place. if it does have something to do with my previous problems then that was damn good timing. because i was driving my car all day without a problem until we messed with it. and no the vibration does not change when we pull them out. so i think its just not igniting in the last to valves.
Oh, so You set it to .044??? Because when we did it they were at .035... And I'm not giving you bullshit, I was trying to help. But you even said " Oh, I dont think you should have to mess with that, it sounds Sketchy..." Just because you don't like the way it looks or works, doesn't mean thats not how you do it.
You don't know what cheap is. You don't know what nice is. You have no idea, you've never had to do any of this before. Your car was not running perfectly before this, so don't try to pull that bullshit, Why the hell were we fixing it? This will be the last time I try to help you with that car.
