how far away is the maf from the turbo? is it in the stock location? what bov are we talking about here? also a good way to tell if you are getting a good fresh motor besides doing a compreesion test is to is to pull the hose on the valve cover that goes to the oil catch and put your thumb over it. If it has some suction thats good if it doesnt and it pops a little when you cover it then thats not so good.

the maf is atleast 8 inches from the turbo and its a blitz dd bov.

If the price is right, id buy. Nothing better than cheap problematic cars that just need a simple fix.

Do a compression check, and if its good, then just start figuring out what on the intake is causing the problem.

my guess is the maf isnt getting a steady reading.

another overlooked problem here might just be that the battery is THAT low.. slightly recharging enough to run the car but as soon as you hit the brakes or use something electrical, the car will die. I've had a few cars do it to me before. I know its not a definitive anwser but maybe something else to check.
