Rocker Arm Stoppers
So what's the deal on them?
I know they prevent the lifters from floating, but is it really worth if someone redlines every so often?
There are some on EBAY that sell for $50 in stainless, while theres other big name such as GReddy and HKS that sells for just under $100 in steel. I know that they will never see rust because well...they are going to be coated with oil anyways.
Will it be hard to distinguish the two in the grade of steel that they use? Since they are like 16 GA sheet metal, are they reliable?
Link to how to install them on SR20DET S14 motors.... http://www.zeroyon.com/pics/installs/S14RAS/S14RAS.html

It is well worth the 65/70 bucks you can buy Greddy ones for. It doesnt matter how often you redline, each and every time you lift them it could happen.

Here Is the deal. This is Moe from SAC (State of the art customs) we have a customers car that suffered this very problem. 90$ greddy rocker arm stoppers would have saved his engine from self destructing. they work great, even if you only brush the rev lim once that can be enough sometimes... and 200$ installed is well worth it when you look at the $1500 and up to fix a head that spit rockers and chuncked cams and broke head castings. i would call them a must have for any sr20 period

Yea they are definately worth it, unfortunately I learned the hard way. And as far as $200 installed wtf! I got my greddy RAS for 60 its like half hour for labor or you can just do it yourself they aren't that difficult at all but some places charge $70-75 an hour so half of the labor and $60-75. For it was 60+35=$95 hmmm whats the better deal but if I didnt have an S14 and you gotta notch the valvecover with a grinder which I dont have to make it fit I would have done it myself.
There is a reason that i call them rocker arm snappers. My clutch stuck to the floor then my factory lowport saw its 8000rpm rev limit and broke 4 rocker arms and bent a valve. If i had not had the ras then i could have just poped them back on. Thats why the ones i have for sale only have 30 miles.
