Ka overheating!!
ok so i got up early this morning and drove the car around with the heat on full til it reached 230 deg. I pulled into a gas station and removed the bleeder screw instanly steam if shooting out this continued for about 20 mins and then it slowed down some so i removed the radiator cap toped it off and it started to bubble some I let it do this for another ten mins or so and kept toping it off then i took the hose from the service area of the gas station and put it in the filler opening of the radiator and flushed it real good and water was coming out of the bleeder screw opening like a fountain I then reved the engine for a while to make sure it was circulating well I replaced the cap and nothing but pure water was coing out of the hole no bubbles I replaced the screw total time of this was prolly around 30-40 mins but Im now confident that there is no air in the system the car was running right under 190 where it should be.
On the drive home Im keeping an eye on the temp and its doing great and running cool all of a sudden the car shuts off. As if someone turned the key off. so I roll it off the road pop the hood. Im instantly thinking it has to be spark since it just shut off instanly no sputter or anything so i remove the connecter that goes to the distributer. Its full of water I guess I got a little messy with my flushing earlier. well i have to be to wrk so i dry the connector and the dist. I take the cap off and not water is inside I make sure the coil and all other connections under the hood are dry and they are. yet everytime I try to restart the car its the same thing...no spark. so I walk home call a tow truck to get the car and leave for work...hopefully it will be dried out by the time I get home. And hopefully i did'nt fy the dist that would suck.
sorry for the novel: cliff notes - got the air out of the system but got my dist connection wet. car shut down on the drive home waiting for it to dry.

I hope it is because I just drove it around the block and its back to running at 260 with the needle halfway up the temp gauge then as Im pulling in the driveway its starts to sputter and idle up and down real bad and stalls and would'nt restart...I'll let it get some sleep and try it again in the morning. maybe there is still some moisture in the connections.

wait that is really hot. Is there white smoke and coolant smell everywhere when you come to a stop? overflow tank full? maybe the good ol' stocker gauge is giving the accurate reading.
The sputter idle up and down really bad happened to me when I lost a vacumn line, brake booster line along firewall is usually the culprit.

I took the car to cfp and shawn flushed and bled the system thoroughly. its idled fine for like 20 mins without getting hot but as soon as I tried to drive it home the temp shot right back up! I think its the headgasket. Im just going to buy a new motor.

Do a leakdown test, before spending somemore money on a motor that you might not need.
