need help please!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Nissan 200sx se-r cable for tranny keeps ripping the rubber grommet on the tranny side. I've went through a few cables now and it's getting kind of annoying. I'm not sure if it's the torque or a possibly motor mount. Does anyone know as to how tight the cable should be? If it's too loose it doesn't allow me to put it into gear. I have the Bluebird motor with 6 puck act disc with stage 3 pressure plate. I have the energy suspension inserts for the mounts already. I was suggest to jack up the car and check for the a lot of engine movement. Any suggestions could it be anything inside the tranny possible tranny levels that cause it? It's usually easier to shift in the morning when it's cold but when it gets hotter *sometimes* it gets hard to put into gear, eventually if I run at the track 2-3 times it could either be hard to get back into gear without smashing the clutch pedal down. Either i'm pushing too hard or it's not set correctly or something causes it to get difficult. Any suggestions or solutions? Runs approx 18 psi of boost on track and lowest track time i got with a total of 9 runs was 9.1 second However I just did a tune up and it feels much smoother now but the clutch cable issue is getting annoying. Been through 8 cables in the past 2 months.

Well ive been having some similar problems, get someone with a bar to pus back the clutch lever so you can tighten it some, hand tightening it isnt always enough, also check the lever to make sure its not breaking. I have a dual diaphram pressure plate, and after tightening it more numerous times. My lever finally snaped off, i didnt check it before hand. But im sure if had a crack to start with. So check the lever make sure theres no cracks and that its not bending back. Good luck.
You put on the cable spacer right?? You would have to w/ that heavy plate.

The sr20 cable includes a spacer for the firewall side not the for the side on the tranny. Are you recommending for me to put one on the tranny side? it doesn't include one by standard however I do have a washer which has been modified to fit that side. I can try that, If the cable's not tight enough then i'm not able to get it into gear so by doing it pretty tight from the underside of the hood works however normally when I do it that way it does reach pretty much the end of the threads on the cable itself for the locking nut.
