Default VQ35DE Spec V

No one seems to post this stuff on TR for you guys, so I will. But credit go's to Travis (TurboS13Hatch), and I believe Crazy-J has a part in this also. Im sure they will chime in.

"The hood closes, no problem. with about 1/2" of clearance, to the insulation.. and even more to go till it hits the metal. Everything clears under the hood.. with the exception of the stock fans.. we'll have to run aftermarket thin fans"

"Water hoses hooked up.. all I had to do is trim the QR top radiator hose to fit, and one of the heater core lines.. the other one fit perfectly without any mods. The lower radiator hose will have to be extended and 90'd up, since the VQ has it's other hose on the passenger side"

"I made a pretty big discovery with the rear mount. Using a VQ30DE bracket.. and trimming the posts on the QR's rear mount to fit, the QR rear mount fits inside the VQ bracket. I have to drill new holes for the bolt to pass through, as marked in the pic.. but, that's cake. Pretty cool.."

"The front mount is way off.. That's the VQ bracket, and QR front mount. I am going to make a steel adaptor to go between the two, and allow it to bolt right up. The passenger side is way off too.. I am going to look at a few things tomorrow before deciding on what I want to do exactly. I have a few ideas."

The Maxima next to it is a VQ30, so the motor came from somewhere else, unless that maxima had a VQ35 swapped into it, which was then swapped into the Spec V.

Awesome work though, much props to the originality.

the weight diff is only like 40-50 lbs. more than the qr25.

travis bought that vq35 from a wrecking yard just for this build.the maxima in the garage had no part in the build at all.

and yes, that is crazy Js spec

Didn't someone do this a few months ago? After hearing the weight difference, that sounds like a pretty good idea. Hope he has some sort of limited slip!
