Cool My Datsun S30 Z's... 56K piss on you.

Hey guys...
i havent posted on TR in forever, as i moved to Houston, TX.
But ill be moving back in a few months, so thought i would share what ive been doing.

I own a few Datsun Z cars, but my Blue Z and my Green Z are my main projects.
Blue Z is a 1977 Datsun 280Z.
Has a Junkyard 280zx L28ET motor, 280zx n/a 5-speed, pretty much most the parts are out of the junkyard or used parts off ebay.
i powdercoated alot of the parts, and im sorta a stickler for detail work so i take my time on some stuff, to atleast try and make it look nice.
motor runs on a MicroTech LT-8 standalone system, MSD ignition, SVO Injectors, Custom Fuel Rail, I did all the port work to the head and intake and exhaust manifolds.
A Buddy and I did all the paint and body work to it.. i bought it 100% stock but it was already painted 350Z Daytona Blue... and it was a shitty ass job.
So we re-did it in BMW M3 Laguna Seca Blue. We shaved the antenna, mirrors, rear end, and fuel door as im running a fuel cell now.
Car has alot of other mods but to much to list.
Also the wheels it has now is oldschool Enkei 92's in 15x8 that im selling as i have some super oldschool Ronal Racing 16x11 rear and 16x8.5 front, but i need rubber and oldschool ZG bolt on fender flares 1st before i can run them on the car.

Ill post some old and newer pics, and i have some even newer pics that ill post later.

rust!!

sorry for so many pics.

My Green Z is a 1976 280Z.
Had a Built L28ET with a T04 62-1 82a.r turbo, custom intake manifold and exhaust manifold, Microtech EMS LTX-12 system and etc etc etc.. But sold the engine and something new is in the works for it. sorta was set up for road racing but i dont think ill be doing much of that anymore with the new engine setup.
Car has ZG flares, CCW Wheels (www.ccwheel.com) and full suspension, from coil overs to adjustable control arms.
bought this car 100% stock too, and was a one owner!
wont post as many pics of the green Z, as most are real old.

it also has custom rotor hats and wilwood calipers.
I still have to do the body and paint to it but ill be keeping it that stock color, sorta like it . Plus ppl know it by its name "The Hulk" so the color will stay. cant wait to race some of Tampa's fastest in it.

enjoy

Mike

Both cars are very nice. I see you post on hybridz all the time. Hopefully I'll see you around Tampa when you move down.

thanks guys...
start building the green Z when i was 19, still havent finished it.
i started the blue Z last year and im about done with it.
putting on a Holset turbo off a dodge ram, another custom downpipe, and finish my ferrari exhaust for it.
still have the interior and brakes to be done on the Blue Z but that will come.
sucks being only 21 and working like mad just to finish a damn 70's car

thanks guys again!

Did you just beadblast the N-42 intake manifold? or is that a different one? Also what lip is that on the green one same as blue? What kind? i really like both of them man, Sorry about all the questions, i really like the 280's, im picking up my first one this weekend, but its an '82...wish i had the 70's one. And where did you find those wide ass wheels with the 4x114.3 bolt pattern?! i've been looking forever for some width!

well you have a 280zx which is a S130 car.. total different car then what i have.
they still make air dams and etc for it though.
the green one has a 240z style air dam w/o air ducts (its fiberglass).
the blue one is a 280z style with air ducts (its platsic, well not but u no).
both can be bought threw MSA www.zcarparts.com
you can also get 280zx stuff there too, but my stuff wont work for your car.
the intake manifold on the blue Z is a 1975 only unit.
its a N42 intake manifold which is alot cleaner, has no webbing between runners and has no egr crap. I made mine as smooth as i could get it with little time spent on it and then i powdercoated it.
the wideass wheels on the blue Z are old old oldschool Ronal Racing wheels, they stopped making them in the late 70's.. it was a lucky find for me thats for sure, the rears have a -30 something offset lol.
the green Z's wheels are 17x11 rear and 17x9.5 front CCW wheels, they were custom made to my specs... i looooooove wide wheels on my Z's.. hell even my black mesh enkei 92's thats on my blue Z right now is 15x8, which is wide for those wheels and very rare. just sucks cuz it takes lots of money to just fit wide wheels on a old Z.
