Default Walbro Fuel pump quality ??

So my fuel pump is acting all kinds of weird.

Today I blew two fuel pump fuses for the first time ever. I turn the iginition to the on position, I usually hear the fuel pump loud as can be. Rather than the regular loud constant whiiring noise it sounds like its stressing to run and pulsating.

We pulled the pump from the tank. (I found the Titanic BTW. Holy rusty ship wreck) Cleaned the filter on the pump off, all the connections. Checked the wiring.

Im wondering if the pump is taking a shit on me. I need to change my fuel filter as well. So that is this week. Deffinatly. I dont know if theres a clogged line or something. Gonna run some fuel additave/cleaner to give that a shot.

Are Walbro pumps proned to pooping out ? Mines not even a yr old.

Anyone else have such luck with em ?

apprently a year ago people kept on complaining that their pump was bad, walbro took a look at them and 98% of them were still good. so I dunno try the compressed air thing?

dunno, clean out your gas tank if there is rust present, and hardwire the pump.

Thanks, but no thanks. I have a SR.

We cleaned the bag w break parts cleaner, and rinsed it out. I put fuel system cleaner in the tank last night. Ran it for a while, drove around. Seems to be back to normal. Its making its usual high pitch noise. (how I know its running and good) no blown fuses thus far. Stay tuned.

As far as dropping the tank... No thank you. I'm too lazy nor do I have the time/resources to do so. Hopefully its fine.

that tank looks like the titanic inside.

the fuel sock was rusty and clogged, which no doubt was making the pump pull too many amps to work, thus blowing the fuse.
