I jus swapped a 93 dual cam into 89 sohc, my problem is the red dash lights dont light up at all when i go to start it, i tried push starting it and it tried to start any help would be great.

 

Did you do the dash plug wiring properly?

 

either you didnt wire the dash wires correctly, or you have a bad ecu

 

well i didnt do the swap, wiring isnt my profession sadly, sean at CFP did the swap

 

have you asked Sean about it? That seems like the logical thing to do.

 

Last time i asked him to fix something on this swap he said hell do it for a fee, after i had gotten the swap done, i swapped the starters out and still nothing , headlights dont dim when trying to start it.

also, didnt you and your girlfriend complain about the job that was done on her car, and you went back?

either trust the shop, and let them fix it, or find a new place to do your work, i say.

 

i never went back after the swap was done, i talked to him about tosme other stuff about the swap like i said above.Im jus trying to figure out what else it could be.

 

has it ever worked since the swap? if you're not getting dash lights, there is a problem between the battery and the ignition switch. check your ignition/battery fuses, make sure they aren't blown. If it was your starter, the lights would come on and you'd turn the key and they'd go off (and come back on when you returned the key from crank to run). are you sure you have a good battery?
