Well, I'm the guy thats buildin an sr20 from the ground up in my bedroom. Almost done with the assembly. Head is currently at the machine shop getting worked on...one more part to go and the motor is done. I'm 19 and this is my first build ever, so let me know your opinions. (good or bad)

Parts so far:
wiseco pistons
eagle rods
balanced crank
oem bearings/ thrust washers
new gaskets throughout
new timing chain/ guides
new front cover
new water pump
ARP head bolts
cometic HG
Comp valve springs
crower titanium retainers
greddy rocker arm stoppers
freshly powerdercoated vavle cover (oem red)

Waiting on: CAMS

Motor is only temporarily dirty...and the Fram filter is only on there to avoid cleaning debris. When the time comes..its K&N for me

Looks VERY Clean, what is your setup going to be used for? What numbers are you shooting for?

Setup is for daily driver (s14). I'm still debating on which turbo to run, but I'd like to see around 500 hp- somewhere in that area.

Nice to see not everyone trusts the importer that says "Under 40.000 miles on this motor." I hope you're checking and double checking the clearances...if not, they will come back to bite you in the ass, the aftermarket places don't always get within the tolerances. I've built plenty of motors in my apartment bedroom...now i got a house, and soon a shop...no need for worry, goodluck. I'd like to see what turbo you're going to choose for that application later.

you're a smart kid. Nice job doing your homework. I'm tired of schooling teenagers and idiots on why a supercharged ka would be crappy vs. an SR swap

looks clean man, just don't wreck it once you install it!

btw, for 500whp....GT30R GT35R=overkill imo.

Do you want 500whp on pump gas or race gas? The GT30R is pretty maxed out at 500whp the GT35R will get you damn close to your goal on pump gas, then leaving good amount of room to improve on race gas or a 50/50 mix of 93 and 100 octane, also is this going to be daily driver? also what kind of power band are you looking for? Ive been looking into building a 450+whp on pump gas in the future once money allowes. So it would be nice to see what you might have in the works.

I'm still undecided on what turbo I'm going to run. I checked all clearanced numerous times when everything was bolted in. Then, I mic'd it when the crank was out numerous times, then I checked everything a few more times once it was all bolted again for end play. Everything fell within factory so I think I'll be good. I honestly didn't search for how to rebuild, I just printed out the FSM and went to work. The car IS going to be daily driver- it's the only car I have/ can afford. I was originally going to simply swap out the headgasket but when half the motor was disassembled, I figured that I may as well rebuild it. I've been building it since November and every part has been installed with cash (why it took so long). As for horsepower...I do not want to worry about my motor being able to handle what I throw at it....ever. I'd be quite pleased just running 12's. I am going to use the t25 until everything is broken in AND until I can afford a better turbo setup.
