Default please help enthalpy ecu

Hi i have a 96 ka-t i bought an enthalpy ecu for it, i know he doesn't have the harness' available for it right now to do the conversion from s14 to s13 that is needed. I have converted most of the wires from my s14 to s13 i have a couple left, i was wondering if anyone else has done this and can give me some pointers, i have both fsm for s13 and s14 but there are still some small discrepincies all help is welcome
thank you

Wow, you're going to manually wire in an S13 ECU into your S14? Start listing the discrepancies and we'll answer them as we get them. I'm assuming you have several FSMs in front of you....

Mark this down folks. Someone asked a decent tech question on their very first post!

First off thank you for the response, I do have many fsms infront of me the main problem i'm having is the s14 fsm has many ground pins while on the s13 it says "sensor ground" on them so my question here is which grounds go were, the reason i ask is, i was pretty sure that the ground from each sensor has to be directly grounded to that circuit, correct me if i am mistaken. Secondly the tps on the s14 has 3 pins 27-THROTTLE POS SWITCH 49-TPS POWER SUPPLY 23-TPS. and on the s13 it only has 2
37-TPS POWER OUTPUT 20- TPS INPUT

Lastly pin 53-CRANKSHAFT POSITION SENSOR (CKP) OBD need to know were this relates on the s13 ecu

the grounds are as follows these all say "sensor ground"
s13
Pin number: 116, 13,21,6,197,108

on the S14 they all say "ECU ground"
Pin number: 118,112,106,19,10,56,43,39

I tried to find out as much as i could searching many different 240 forums but this is were i am stuck all help is appreciated

perhaps the one extra TPS wire is for cruise control???

i don't think S13 ECU's have a crankshaft position sensor, as that came on OBD-2 equipped vehicles.

please correct me if i'm wrong.

cruise control is a seperate unit altogether really.

for tps, theres obviously going to be a power and a tps signal to the ecu. 37 = 49 for power and the one s13 will have to go to the s14..or both maybe.

i think on the grounds you should be able to interchange them, or ground them all to a certain point. aren't grounds usually pretty simple...they ground..i dont think it has to ground anywhere specific either, as in, you should be able to just hit merge 2 or 3 grounds together and then slap a ring terminal on it and then just ground 'em all right there by the ecu. i could be wrong, but i dont recall any grounds for sensors having to ground somewhere specific, in fact half the ground wires in the harness aren't even needed, most of them just run into each other and some are really pointless if you've ever opened up a harness loom.

great thing you're doing, taking it upon yourself. not to take away from scott's business, but it would help to have a writeup (though the harness he sells is still easier obviously). i have a feeling if scott doesnt get enough s14 > s13 harnesses in in august, there's going to be more people wanting to DIY if scott sells out again (which gauging interest on many ka-t boards, he's likely to).

might have to just use trial and error unless someone can come up with definitive answers...its something that hasnt been done alot.

Thats not cool to say about scott, man.
Yes, ground each sensor directly to the circuit.
I'll have to read deeper into it at work and compare the sensors.
it sounds like 49 (s14) matches with the 37 (s13); and the 27 (s14) goes with 20 (s13). Check what the voltages should be at each wire, that will tell us which wire does what, and which wire we can toss out.

S13's have a CAS (cam angle sensor), instead of a crank pos sensor.

I forgot if you asked anything else.
PS: use solder only, because butt connectors can throw off the signal enough in these sensative sensors to really mess shit up.

whats not cool? i have nothing but praise for him, but judging by how many people i know are WAITING on this specific harness to come in, scott might sell out of them pretty quickly...depending on how many he is going to be getting in this time around. im just saying that others will be resorting to DIY harnesses if he runs out again, because it is that popular nowadays it seems. im not saying make them for money and compete with scott. anyone has the right to make their own harness if they want to, but scott's tuning ability is still the core of it all.

First of all the S13 has 3 pins for the TPS, so does the S14, same wire colors too:
S13:
Pin 20- white-Signal wire (ecu input)
Pin 29/21- black-ground
Pin 37- Lt Green-red - 5v power supply (reference)
S14:
Pin 23- white - signal wire (ecu input)
Pin 50- black- ground
Pin 49- Lt Green-red- 5v power supply (reference)

swap those around and it will work like a charm.

ON AN S13 ECU:
Pins #22 and 30 are Crank angle sensor reference signal (.1-1.3v @idle)
Crank angle position sensor signal is Pins 31 and 40 (@ idle shoule be 2.0-3.0v)
the s13 crank angle sensor has 4 wires on it: wht=pins 22 &30, black-31 & 40, another black - pin 48 (and a bunch of chassis locations), and Blk-wht-38,47,eccs relay, and the mafs.
ON AN S14 ECU:
Crank position sensor- pin53 (pink wire) and Black/red-turns into blue, and ends up at pin 50 (ground).

For the CPS:I thinkthe s13's 31 & 40 should go to the pink wire from the s14 CPS.
and the TPS wire colors should match up accordingly to the pins i mentioned above.
