Default intake MAF problems.

ok i have a s14 KA put into an s13 with s13 ecu and maf. i dont know y but when i put intake on it wont idle right and eventually it will die. and when i step on the accel it just bogs and barely moves. are s14 mafs and s13 mafs the same sensor? or could i just change it out into a z32 maf. (does that means im going to need bigger injectors too? ) i dont even know if that would matter since its an s13 ecu. but most likely i dont know what im talking about and thats y i am asking for help. i have apex n1 dual exhaust if that info helps out any. thnx.

what year s14 KA is it? And was your S13 originally equipped with the KA24DE or KA24E... that might be the prob with the ECU.

If you're using an S13 ecu, you use the S13 mafs. It doesn't matter what year the engine is. Don't forget that you need something on that mafs, too. If you don't have an airbox or cone filter it will try to stall. Also, since you've swapped to an S14 motor, make sure you changed the coolant temp sensor back to s13.

i have intake piping with a cone filter. i previously had it installed on another s13 so i know it works. i took the same maf off of the same s13 and put it on my car now with the s14 motor and it just doesnt want to idle. it sounds like its getting too much air maybe? and when i press the it will just stutter and bog and barely move. but when i put on the stock piping and airbox it runs fine.

Make sure that the intake pipe isn't leaking. Also, you probably have had to swap to an s13 distributer... make sure your timing is correct.
