Skyline/SR20DET Problem...
Hey all. I have an 89 Skyline GTS-T, I've had it for about 8 months now. I am having a very odd problem. When I first got the car imported, it was completely stock except for an aftermarket exhaust. The car ran PERFECT, about 3 weeks ago, I cleaned the motor and did some dressing up with new hoses, etc. Ever since then, whenever I'm driving, Once I hit 4th gear, the car seems to lose a ton of power for about 5 seconds, then it picks right back up. But for those 5 seconds, it literally feels like the motor has just died. What could I have done? Thanks. I really dont want to take it to an expensive shop if it's something simple I can fix.
Yeah, Electrical Connections is what I'm worried about. I had to remove some when cleaning up the motor. But I've looked over it, and I've checked the Vacuum lines, I've checked all electrical connections, everything LOOKS fine to ME. I'm Stumped. I hate taking it to a shop, because the people who work at them always give me the feeling that once I leave, their going to have a good ol' time with it.
RB20DET not SR20.
I was going to say something may still be wet, or water got someplace where it shouldn't be. But its been 3 weeks. The heat would've dried that out by now. Did you cover your maf, distrib, alt.. etc when you cleaned it?
Its one of these, so again, go back and-

RB20, sorry, SR20 is getting so common to say >.< Yes, I covered all of the electronics that needed to be covered! I hope the ECU didn't get wet.. It is only in 4th gear, and only for about 5 seconds, then power comes right back, full blast. ????
