Default Clutch Issue

Hi all...here is the scoup. I just had some work done of my 240. "New" engine install (56k)...new clutch assy, slave cyl. everything is just great. Now the "but"...but the clutch behaves weird. The feel of the pedal varies, sometimes soft other times fine. The travel of the clutch pedal is what is the most bothersome. Sometimes its right where it needs to be, about 1-1 1/2" of free play, but other times it will have no free play @ all and the clutch will slip under hard accleration. the mechanic @ the shop said he bled the crap out of the system. i've adjusted the pedal(not the height) push rod assy thingy several time. What gives? Any ideas? Its like the system builds pressure. I know there is a chance that i may need a new clutch master cyl...but i would have thought that the shop would have loved to get the cah ofr installing that oo, even though i dont need them too...oh well. Your input would be greatly appreciated. Thanks

no i havent, i have read about that though. it looks like its pretty a straight forward mod too. were you able to bend the line to do the bypass or did you have to get new line to do the mod? I was considering doing exactly that. but wanted some input first...

+1 same problem, bend the line, its not hard to do, also, don't bend it like a madman, do it slow and gentle, good luck bro

LOL. Yeah. I know there are some knuckle draggers out there that would grab the pliers or vice grips and go at it. being a '93 the lines may be tender. I'll use caution.

It's the same thing on the s13, just be careful bending it. Make sure to bleed the system as well, that makes a difference as air in the lines can also make the pedal feel vary.

Yeah, thats the thing i thought it was @ first. The shop that did my engine swap also did the slave cyl @ the same time so that bled the system...on 2 seperate occations. One of which the mechanic said he ran 8 pints of fluid thru the system to get all the air out. I know thats extreme but thats what he said. I thought it was funny how pedal feel would vary with temp and drive time. i'll probably tackle this on the weekend.
