Default 240sx offset question?

Im looking to get some rims for my 240sx but dunno what offset to get to clear coilovers I want some 17x7.5 front 17x8.5 back but Im not sure which offset I heard you have to get 35+ or higher but Im not 100 percent sure. The car is a 89 so I dunno if that matters.

I have 32 offset, I can fit a 245-40-17 on the front NO problem, I also have 255-45-17 on the back right now and they fit fine as well.

Hes got an S14, you have an S13, totally different fender fitments.

I have run a 17x7.5 +35 with a 215/45/17 in the front with Megan racing coilovers and it just BARELY cleared. I'm now running a 17x7.5 +32 and its a better clearance for sure, same size tires.

In the rear I'm running a 17x9 +20 with a 235/40/17 on stock body (no rolling, no pulling) and its pretty close, but no rubbing. I'm pretty low on the Megans, no visible fender gap, but I'm also cambered in a bit (however much it cambered when I installed the coilovers)

Don't get 17x7, you will regret it. I sure did.

Well, my current setup is absolutely horrible, but I have an s13. I'm really running at my fitment limit. I have some 17x7(.5) +40... that's right, 40. They shouldn't even fit. Well... I had a set of 225's on the front, and one side rubbed a bit of coating of my coilover spring lol. Now, I'm running a set of 215/45 kuhmos w/noooo problem, and in the rear, I have 235/45 potenzas, but I could probably fit a 245 or something. I'm on tein HE's.

Okay. You have a bunch of options when it comes to offsets, and etc. Your prolly running 4 lug, so that cuts your choices by like 80% lol.

Here's your 4 lug choices from the 5zigen website for FN's:

17x7 +35 They recommend this for s13 front
17x8 +35 They recommend this for s13 rear
17x9 +20 They recommend this for s13 and s14

I do not like either the 17x7 or 17x8, because of the horrible offset, sunken ship style. However, 17x9 is a little over the top, however will fit with camber, rolling, and/or pulling, and stretched tire if you want real man wheels lol.

You can get the 17x7's and 17x8 to fit more flushly with a wheelspacer, but I don't like wheel spacers, because they are supposed to be unsafe, but some D1 cars run them, Nascars I beleive, along with all kinds of other cars in the motorsports world, so take this with a grain of salt.

If you really want the best wheel variety, then go 5 lug.
