Damn, its happening to me. I thought it was the transmission. I was hoping it was the transmission. From what ive read, these noises at 3k rpm mean the beginning of a rod knock. Ive had this since i got the car back though and it hasnt got any worse (thank god). I have ran 19 psi a few times and still same. Car made good power also. I would guess if it was a rod knock or bearing then it would have gotten bad by now? It happens around those rpms and i can get it to do it manually by pressing the gas pedal softly or letting go of the gas pedal softly. It sounds almost like a vibration. Like something hitting against something else very fast. I dont know how to explain it. Martin from xat first thought it was a bearing but after a few 19 psi runs he began to think it is my tranny/clutch since my tranny is messed up.....Hope its nothing bad.....Lemme know if you figure it out man.

I think it's a bad wrist pin on one of the pistons, or something like that i've heard that noise before it could happen from anything, basiclly if your worried youll need to get head bolts head gasket and a rod and piston thats if thats the problem.

if so thats when the downpipe is vibrating your driveshaft and tranny secure it down and out of the way better. one of the little tweaks of having a rhd sylvia motor in your lhd 240sx.
