Default SR power question

just wondering what steps should i take next for more power, kinda want to keep my current turbo if at all possible. i want 350 to the wheels.

my setup: blacktop s13, GTIR t28, 480cc injectors, maxima maf, front mount, stainless o2 and DP.

i put down 300hp,290tq at 15psi. i heard this setup is good to 18psi safely. how good is the stock head gasket? i was thinking cams and 18 psi should get me there, but what cams should i get, keep in mind i need mid range and TQ for drifting, not all out power. what about the top speed intake manifold? i wouldn't mind a s15 exhaust manifold either.

maxima maf from the old vg30de motors is *i think* the same size as a z32 mafs, just it maxes out quicker, since its not an N62. but it does allow power levels to exceed past where the stock MAFs maxes out at. i'd be interested to see what voltages you're getting at 300hp/290tq (which by the way is impressive!) to see how much you have left in that (since i forget where they max out at).

you're going to be darn well near to maxing that little gtir snail, their rated at like what translates to be ~330rwhp, and that is usually WITH cams and intake manifold, and a more 'top end friendly' power band. it would be close but go for it while you have it.

as for cams, i wanna say maybe something like a 256* (tomei poncams/hks 256 step 1 perhaps) would suit well, but im not too familiar with keeping midrange on an sr, since most people just go for dyno queen numbers and such.

I had pretty good luck with the rom tune and my HKS 264's. They suck without the tune, but with it was really good. My gti-r took a crap so Im back to stock t25 for a while. I think cams, 321 stainless manifold, will help with your power without losing midrange. The intakemanifold is deffinatly for top end.

It's time to upgrade your entire setup then. The Turbo, Injectors, Maf, cams, intake manifold should all be replaced if you want to get there safely. 18psi won't get you to 350 to the wheels unless you're running race gas and maybe 22-23 psi.

You'd be much better doing 550cc injectors, a GT2871R turbo, and JWT C1 camshafts. Don't forget valve springs and rocker arm stoppers either. Add a Greddy intake manifold. The Top Speeds need to be extrude honed before they make remotely near the horsepower the greddy does. Ask martin about his dyno proof of that. From there you will be able to make 350 all day at less than 18psi.

the funniest part is that i have that entire setup in stock at enjuku right now, lol.

stock HG is good til about 350whp, but since i know how u drive, going any higher then like 320whp, id do gasket/studs

id do a 264/264 combo, but 300-315whp is pretty much peak HP levels of a GTIR turbo, anything past that ure gonna start baking ure oil.

you need to be running rockerstoppers right now regardless, high rpm stints without stoppers is a BAD idea, its the best $80 you could spend on the safety of that motor

are you running sidefeed or top feed 480s right now? if they are side feed, you could get 330whp max out of them, if they are topfeeds, your pretty much at the max duty you want to be at, since sidefeeds have better cooling via the fuel flow, you can run high duties on the sidefeeds.

im shooting for 290-310 WHP with my GTIR, manifolds, and rom tune only
