My friend gave me a 89 240sx that didnt run. After a lot of cleaning and replacing vacuum hose I got it running. The motor (stock KA24E) has a loud knock in the head and it barely runs. Is this motor worth the work or should I upgrade?

 

You should give it to me and let me swap out the engine.

 

haha mad rod knock. Ya man dont bother, we have some damn good shops in the area, go check them out theyll pretty much always have a KA24DE, which is slightly more powerful than you SOHC. And it will last much longer, only minor mods need to be done to complete the swap. Good luck

Its going to be to much of a headache. I'll swing by with a tow truck and a 100 bucks. JLMK.

Be carful, wouldn't want ya to go crazy with the torch and have the v-8 drop on you and kill you. For your safety, i think its best if we wrap this deal up as soon as possible.
