Race date with new car

Default Race date with new car

I'll be taking delivery of another 84 300zx (turbo/auto) soon. Once I own this beast and have it all legal, I am supposed to race someone. It's just a gentlemens bet. No money will be envolved, just pride/braging rights. I normally wouldn't be worried, but today I noticed he was installing a +75hp shot of go-go juice . Kid owns an 88-90ish Honda CRX: JDM b16 with intake and exhaust, and now the nitrous. Off the bottle I know I have him, but I want to make sure that it is not a concern.

What can I do to make my car faster that doesn't cost more than... let's say 100 bucks . I already have a boost controller, I will be taking off the air filter and exhaust components, running higher grade gasoline, but what else?

Open to any suggestions.

spark plugs man- I would suggest bosch 4 prong ultra performance they cost like 30 dollars or so.

EEEEEKKKKKKKK!!! NO BOSCH PLUGS!!

Those things are the BANE OF EXISTANCE.

Get NGK coppers! Dyno proven! Ask anyone at that used to work at SS what the most common problem with cars breaking up or not making power was! Wrong plugs and after market wires!! Get new OEM wires and NGK plugs!

Theres not alot you can do for 100 bucks though that you havent done already.

Seriously, Toyota's and nissans hate Bosch plugs, they suck ass. use NGK, or nippon. the only cars that should use bosch are 'Merican" or yourapeein cars.

- 1" NPT Plug from Home Depot for POV
- NGK V-Power Plugs
- Make sure rest of ignition is fine (Cap/Rotor/etc)
- New tank of 93 Octane

Then set boost at 14-15psi.

I doubt a B16 + 75shot is capable of running a 105+ mph in the 1/4.

Then spend the extra $70 you saved by going home and getting wasted.

Thanks for the plug advice guys. The crx is Janky Mike's (we go to school together). I think I'll look into those copper plugs. Teddy I'm relatively retarted when it comes to abbreviations... remind me what NPT/POV is. Oh and btw, the $100 figure was just a rough estimate can be higher. I am going to be looking for a nice front mount and bigger injectors, so hit me up PM style.
