ive found a few black streams black on my driveway here and it looks like if it was coming out of my exhaust. Could this mean im running rich or something?
I mean, theyre about 2ft long. I put my hand on the back of the muffler while the car is idling and my hand smells completely like fuel and my fingers get a bit tinted. Also, i tried turning the fpr down or up and it doesnt change readings. Sometimes i open the hood and its marking somethign else!? tightening teh fpr bolt opens pressure and untightening closes it right!?

No experience with FPRs, just make sure that it has the vacuum reference hooked up. I have seen this before, except it was a garage wall and not a hand. BOV was leaking at idle, which is pretty common on non-recirc'd, MAFS based cars. If you had a leak in your intercooler pipes (which would also cause it), the car would behave horribly on the street.

 

could also just be carbon build up and condensation "water" coming out..and that isnt bad at all..

 

but that wouldn't explain the distinct smell of fuel. I've seen both, and its easy to tell the difference by sniffing around.

 

Why not get a gauge for your fpr and play with it for a while?

 

blown injector? wtf.....the car runs fine when im actually driving. But my boy told me that black smoke comes out when i get on it. This was like 2 days ago. Also, remember i have a jwt ecu.....they're pretty conservative. Maybe with an afc i can fix some of this? Also, it could be condensation but like epstein said, how do you explain the smell of gas? I mean, if i have a messed up injector wouldnt it flood and not run right?

have a friend rev it up when its cold and put ur hand infront of the exhaust and if it spits shit out then smell it......if it smells like gas its probably gas, u could also try to light it when it shoots out......if its gas, it will burn LOL good luck, sounds like ur runnin rich or the timeings a little off on the exhaust cam, it happend to my old prelude......have fun.......

dude it very well could be what lunchbox said, my 240 sat not running for like 2 months when we tried to fire it it woundn't start but had spark and smelled like it had fuel only problem the fuel pump wasn't hooked up, and it wasn't just a little fuel smell it was like a burn my eyes fuel smell, so what im trying to tell you is just cause you smell fuel doesent mean that its there


also are you having any performance issues that are associated with the black streaks/ smoke
