i just bought an auto 89 240 and want to swap it to 5speed. my friend has a tranny out of a 88 nissan pickup will it work? would it be a simple swap?

 

do you really want a tranny from 1988 ?

 

i would imagine the truck would have a different gearing also

you need more than the tranny.
you need the pedal, slave cylinder, clutch master,clutch lines, pedal assy. flywheel, clutch, and the center console bezel, and rubber boot, and 5 speed driveshaft.

and its kind of a pain. i would wait until the single cam implodes, and swap it at the same time to save a little labor.
